I can't believe how fast these three weeks have flown by!! We've done so much and I hope you all have enjoyed reading about it and looking at our pictures!!
Today was like the 4th of July for Australia. It has a few different names, Australia day, which celebrates when the British came and settled here, and Survival Day or Sorry Day, which celebrates the Aboriginal people who have lived here from many, many years.
The celebrations were very different, but I'm happy I was able to experience both sides to this holiday. For Sorry/Survival Day we I bought a bracelet made from nuts which fall off a tree, tried new foods, and watched traditional Aboriginal Dances. For Australia day, we walked through Sydney Harbor, watched swimming races, and soaked up the sun in the Botanical Gardens (an extremely huge and beautiful park in Sydney).
The whole day was amazing and I'm so sad to be coming home!! I love it here! :)
